Laser Hair removal
It’s the most efficient method of hair removal.
How does Laser Hair Removal Work?
Our ND:YAG laser focuses a beam of high-intensity light on the follicle of the unwanted hair, destroying it at the root. As the laser releases the energy in short pulses it avoids damaging the surrounding tissue.
Is Laser Hair Removal Affordable?
Most people find laser hair removal represents a significant saving over the combined cost of shaving, waxing and other treatments in the long term.
How many Laser Hair Treatment sessions will I need?
For optimum results multiple session are necessary, usually between 6-10 visits with about 4-8 week intervals in between treatments, depending on which part of the body is being treated. This is because at any given time, only a fraction of hairs is in the growing phase (anagen cycle). Only anagen hairs can be effectively removed with laser because the resting phase (telogen) hairs do not produce pigment at their follicle bulb, which is the target for the laser beam. Successful treatment depends on many factors, including the treated area, ethnicity, skin type, hair colour, and the unique individual response to laser treatment. It is important to have realistic expectations. No laser clinic can claim 100% hair removal – invariably some hair will always grow back. This is especially the case if hair regrowth is driven by hormones. Women who have polycystic ovarian disease, for example, will need yearly maintenance treatments to keep hair growth at bay.
Can Laser Hair Removal Be Performed On All Skin Types?
Hair removal laser can be performed on all skin types and the majority of hair colours, except blonde, white and red hair. The best candidates are those clients with fair skin and dark hair. Laser hair removal cannot be performed on recently suntanned skin. If you present with a tan, including a tan from a solarium or a fake chemical tan, for your safety you will be asked to return once it has faded. It is extremely important to shave off the hair 12-14 hours before the appointment, without waxing, epilating or using depilatory creams, because the root of the hair must be present in the hair follicle for the laser to successfully target it.
